Impasse is another excellent Mark Steere game. Played with a standard checkers set, players attempt to bear off their pieces. A player who is deprived of any moves is said to be at an impasse and is rewarded by bearing off. This is a tense and exciting game with no draws possible.

Zotmeister 2 Such a simple, pure game of actions and consequences.

Laurie_Menke 1 One of my favorite Mark Steere games.
unic 1 Clever race game. The a1-h8 diagonal ends up feeling too crucial.
xoet 1 this game has a recursive effect in the way one wins... the distance one can think ahead usually is the winner.
CDRodeffer 0 Light game of almost pure tempo.
Cerulean 0 Clark is right; tempo is the crux of Impasse. Mellow is an accurate descriptor. Demoted in favor of Riptide/Liger.

morganfitzp -1 Was bored by the game and the prospect of what lay ahead in terns of moving these checkrs back and forth across the board. Glad my opponent timed out and the game ended after a few moves.
molnar -2 do not want.
nycavri -2 Memo to self: I don't like checkers or its variants.
